Happy Monday!
Today read: John 20:24-31
(29)Jesus said to him, “because you have seen Me, have you believed ? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believe”
I love that scripture. Oh Thomas, so sadly and honestly like a lot of us. Here you have a man, a disciple of Jesus Christ who walked the earth with Him in the flesh. Who saw the signs and wonders, and now he is doubting the good news he is commissioned to share! AND GOD… Oh He is so faithful to us that He proves to Thomas and others that HE IS ALIVE. He is who He says He is.
We have all heard and even used the phrase “practice what you preach” but today I want to challenge you to change that to BELIEVE what you preach!!! One day right in the middle of a storm in my life I heard the Lord ask me do you believe what you share… and I sat there a moment… do I?
He said; Do you believe I can heal any disease, even cancer? Do you believe nothing is impossible? Do you believe that one person you know struggling again is not to far out of My reach? Do you believe that you have resurrection life in your hands? Do you believe you are my heart and hands and feet here on earth? Do you believe I am good?
Yes Lord, I do, is the answer I yelled out!! I believe!!
So right now let’s pray,
Lord, I don’t want to be a wave in the sea blown around and tossed by wind (James 1:6) I don’t want to be a cloud with out rain(Proverbs 25:14) to nourish the seeds planted below. I believe Lord! I believe even when it doesn’t make sense to my heart or if I don’t like the outcome… I believe! Lord, please burn up any unbelief left in my heart right now, in Jesus’ name- amen
