Monday devotional: mourning and dancing

Today read:

1 Corinthians 15:50-58 (54)”Death has been swallowed up in victory”

and

Isaiah 25: 7-9 (8)He will swallow up death forever.

While some are giving birth to new life and watching their baby take steps for the first time and celebrating new beginnings others are sitting at their sister/mother/father/wife/husband/child’s bed side watching life slip away. This can all happen at the same time, and does. Friends, we must never stop mourning the brokenness in the world and striving to help heal it, and we must never stop dancing through the beautiful, magical moments in life either. Because life is beautiful on the mountain and in the valley. I’ve personally seen the most beautiful flowers blooming in the valley, I’ve learned the most about God’s heart and my own there.

and Because of Jesus we have the choice of enteral life after death, because of Jesus we will/can/should dance again.

So no matter if you’re in a valley moment or on top of a mountain or somewhere in the middle; today I pray that you each keep planting those seeds, with hope in your heart. Burying seeds in the darkness knowing that you can only grow and beautifully bloom after you die. (John 16:20) God we thank You for eternal life, for the chance to dance and mourn at the same time. We thank You that You wipe every tear and not one prayer is lost, You bind our broken hearts and make all things brand new. We ask Lord that You give us Your strength and joy to keep moving. In Jesus name we pray, Amen
