Monday Devotional- not just me, them too.

Today read with me:

Matthew 9:36-38 -when He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless like a sheep without a Shepard. He said to his disciples, “the harvest is great but the workers are few, so pray to The Lord who is in charge of the harvest, and ask Him to send more workers into His fields.”

And Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

And Psalm 127:4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

Parents, this one is for you.

It’s so much easier to pray for God to send workers into His fields and even for Him to send us, “send me Lord, I’ll go” – I’ve heard many people cry out!

But – we can’t pray for our children’s health and future without also praying for God to use them, to send them. Even if that is uncomfortable (it is I know) or costly! Somewhere along the line in this amazing, beautiful time we live in, where kids are faced with so so many worldly options. The phrases and quotes are all over school walls and the internet – telling them they can do and be what ever they want. We should also be reminding them to do and be who God says first. I never really understood why a pendulum must swing from extreme to extreme. Why we go from zero options to anything and everything is okay…

We should learn by now, balance is key.

Also, arrows are not made to stay in the quiver. They are made for battle.

Today I pray that we remember God always finishes what He starts, and that He is good. That we will choose to joyfully pray for God to guide our children, and send them where ever He has planned for them to go and that we have equipped them to answer that call and know His voice. I pray those arrows are sharp and they stop the enemy from advancing. And that light and love and life bloom in their footprints. Send them Lord- Amen!
